Funerals
Funerals
Saying goodbye to our loved ones is likely to be the most challenging of milestones in life and needs to be approached with the greatest care and understanding. As well as laying one to rest we also realise the importance of celebrating a life and that is what our funeral services set out to achieve.

We work closely with funeral directors making sure that every detail has been covered in order to ensure that the service runs smoothly and that the wishes of close family and friends have been included.
These services help us to bring closure into our lives by remembering the happy times we shared with those we have lost. Every ceremony will be unique and planned in such a way as to allow all those present to reflect upon a life celebrated as well as life going forward with special memories.

A bespoke eulogy will be prepared reflecting the life of the deceased and a poem can also be created to add to the sentiments of their nearest and dearest.

Music and readings are usually included as enhancements of the service which can also, if so required, incorporate some religious elements.

We realise the importance of creating the perfect tribute and work with loved ones to ensure that they are confident of our commitment to them.

A wake or repast, sometimes also referred to as a reception allows mourners to gather together after a funeral once covid restrictions have been lifted. We can help to take away any angst or stress at this difficult time by arranging the wake, making sure that every detail has been addressed. The arrangements can include a speech about the deceased and this is usually planned out to be a little more light hearted than the eulogy and can include special memories and little anecdotes aimed at lifting the mood slightly by focusing on happier times.

However you wish to remember your loved ones, we at The World of Celebration will help you to give them the best ceremony possible.

Celebration Of Life And Memorial Services
As we emerge from the pandemic and covid restrictions are lifted many people will welcome the opportunity to hold a ceremony that will honour their loved one in a way that was not possible at the funeral due to lockdown or tiered regulations.

A life celebration is focused on the joy that the departed person brought into people’s lives and the ceremony will usually include music, readings and a eulogy reflecting on the life of the deceased. Religious elements can be included although a life celebration service tends to be nonreligious. A memorial service however tends to follow a more traditional ceremony plan and contains religious elements. At The World of Celebration we can create whichever type of ceremony you would prefer, taking into account different beliefs whilst focusing on the feelings of the bereaved as well as the character of the deceased.
These services help us to bring closure into our lives by remembering the happy times we shared with those we have lost. Every ceremony will be unique and planned in such a way as to allow all those present to reflect upon a life celebrated as well as life going forward with special memories.

We can also help with the organisation of a reception to follow the ceremony and this will allow family and friends to get together in a less formal environment and share memories and stories of their loved one who has passed. Having us to plan the event as a whole allows family and friends the freedom from having to stress about the logistical details on the day. We can handle a seamless flow from ceremony through to reception allowing those involved to be present in their emotions and have meaningful connections with others who share in their grief.

We believe that a Celebration of Life or Memorial is one of the most important milestone ceremonies in which we are involved and we fully respect the significance of the occasion and will create a fitting tribute to those we have lost.

Scattering Of The Ashes
Scattering the remains of a loved one is a very important milestone in life’s journey and often helps in part, to deal with grief.

The ceremony can take place at a crematorium or can be in a special location known to family and friends of the deceased. We can help you decide upon the perfect location that will give comfort and special meaning to this important ceremony.
These services help us to bring closure into our lives by remembering the happy times we shared with those we have lost. Every ceremony will be unique and planned in such a way as to allow all those present to reflect upon a life celebrated as well as life going forward with special memories.

We are able to arrange a traditional scattering of ashes or a “casting ceremony” which helps symbolize the “letting go” or freeing of the loved one’s spirit.

Special words are prepared to enrich the ceremony and to give a depth of meaning for those left behind. Music and poems can also be included along with symbolic actions such as shaking hands or hugging (subject to covid regulations), making promises, lighting candles, scattering of petals or the planting of a tree (subject to the location).

Religious elements of the ceremony are completely optional. Our aim, as always, is to help create a bespoke ceremony for all involved and that is our pledge at “The World of Celebration”
